Many parishes will host Lenten Missions over the next 40 days to help parishioners focus on their spiritual growth this season. Please contact the parish directly if you have any questions related to the information below.

As we enter into the season of Lent, a reminder that three parishes on peninsular Halifax will start to offer a daily 7:30am Mass. This is the result of feedback the diocese has received from people who would like to go to Mass prior to the beginning of their work day. Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Good Shepherd Parish, and Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi Parish will host these early morning Mass at 7:30am with the following schedule:

Pope Francis has been in hospital since February 14 as a result of a number of serious health concerns. As the world continues to receive updates on the Holy Father’s wellbeing, Catholics around the world have been holding the Pope close in prayer.   Last week,  Most Reverend William T. McGrattan, Bishop of Calgary and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) offered the following statement:

On December 7, 2024 Canada was gifted with another Cardinal.  On that day Pope Francis elevated 21 new members to the College of Cardinals.
