Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Warm greetings and joy to you, in this year of Jubilee, 2025! In response to the call of Pope Francis and inspired by our Catholic social teaching, Development and Peace together with the global Caritas confederation launches the Lenten campaign Turn Debt into Hope to mark the Jubilee year. Hence, I invite you to participate in this year’s Share Lent campaign.
As we enter the first week Lent, Archbishop Dunn offers his Lenten Message will a focus on the important and sacred journey that Lent invites us into, and in particular during this Jubilee Year, a journey that is a pilgrimage. Click here to read the letter in English and in French.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
As Lent begins we recall that this Jubilee Year calls us to set out on a sacred journey - a pilgrimage toward a very specific destination. The Season of Lent gives us an opportunity to make a spiritual pilgrimage to grow in our spiritual life and be fed by the Eucharist. And so in this Jubilee Year, I invite you to consider making a pilgrimage either to St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica in Halifax or St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral in Yarmouth. And if you have the means you may consider a pilgrimage to a sacred site like Jerusalem, Rome or Fatima. Sacred journeys focus our hearts, minds, bodies and souls on what matters most.
The Jubilee Year 2025 is underway! Archbishop Dunn has written a pastoral letter to the faithful of the Archdiocese about the activities and initiatives we will look at locally to celebrate this special year. Click here to read the letter in English and in French.
