  • Prayers for Pope Francis

    Pope Francis has been in hospital since February 14 as a result of a number of serious health concerns. As the world continues to receive updates on the Holy Father’s wellbeing, Catholics around the world have been holding the Pope close in prayer.   Last week,  Most Reverend William T. McGrattan, Bishop of Calgary and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) offered the following statement:

    What is the National Reconciliation Fund For?

    In September 2021 the Canadian Bishops have pledged $30 million towards a national Reconciliation Fund. This fund supports projects and initiatives that help the Church walk with Indigenous communities across Canada towards healing and reconciliation.

    Iconography Retreat

    An Iconography Retreat will be offered by the iconographers from Kalos Iconography this Lent.  Participants will write and paint their own Icon of St. Padre Pio. Using authentic materials and supplies, the attendees will use this ancient technique to contemplate and pray while making an icon. These have always served as "Windows into Heaven." There is no previous experience necessary.

    Praise Concert

    St. Joseph’s Church at 48 Belcher St. in Kentville will host a Parise Concert on Sunday, March 2,2025 at 7:00pm. The concert will be a unique combination of 12 Valley Christian music ministers, all performing solos in Kentville for St Joseph's Christian Concern fund.
