As we enter into our first full week of Lent the faithful are encourage to find ways to live their Lent fully by fasting, giving alms, and deepening their prayer. To help people do this parishes across the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth are hosting Lenten Missions and other Lenten initiatives. ALL SAINT PARISH, Cumberland County
A variety of times of prayer and retreat are being hosted by the Mary Mother of Mercy Prayer group out of Holy Family Church, 63 Church St in Amherst. Events include:
- Adoration on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm prior to daily Mass
- Parish wide retreat on Saturday, March 28, 2026

ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS, Eastern Shore
Saint John of the Cross Parish Lenten Mission 'JESUS’ MESSAGES FROM THE CROSS,' led by Fr. Johni Mathew will take place on March 19 and 20, 2026 from 7pm to 8:30pm at St Genevieve Church, 723 East Chezzetcook Road, East Chezzetcook. This is a wonderful opportunity to personally encounter Christ more deeply and to be transformed by Him during the Lenten season. SAINT BENEDICT PARISH, Clayton Park, Halifax
Saint Benedict Parish will host a Lenten Mission from March 5-7, 2026. The mission will focus on the themes Identity, Work, and Rest and will be led by Hannah Vaughan-Spruce who works with Divine Renovation UK.
