The Sisters of Charity—Halifax celebrate Pope Leo XIV's election. With deep pastoral ties to Chiclayo, Peru—where the Sisters ministered for over 50 years—the newly elected Pope holds special significance for the community.
From Halifax to Rome, the Sisters share in the joy of this historic moment, including Sister Margaret Mary Fitzpatrick, SC, who was in Rome during the Conclave. The recently shared media release that includes reflections from Sisters in both Peru and Halifax, as well as a note on the connection with Archbishop Emeritus Martin Currie, who also served in Chiclayo.
