Christmas at our Cathedrals

Christmas is fast approaching! During this time of year visitors and locals like to celebrate these special seasonal liturgies at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica or Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral.  Below is a schedule of the Masses at our cathedrals.

Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica 

Christmas Eve:  Wednesday, December 24, 2025

  • 6:00 pm – Solemnity of The Nativity of the Lord
  • 8:30 pm* -  Solemnity of The Nativity of the Lord
  • 12:00 am - Midnight Mass – Solemnity of The Nativity of the Lord (Carols 30mins before Mass)  
    *PLEASE NOTE: the 8:30 pm Mass will be broadcast live on Eastlink TV. Channel 10 or 610.  Thank you to our friends at Eastlink!

Christmas Day: Thursday, December 25, 2025

  • 10:30 am – Solemnity of The Nativity of the Lord (Carols 30mins before Mass)

Boxing Day: Friday, December 26, 2025

  • 10:00 am – Christmas Flowers Donation Mass
  • 12.15 pm - Daily Mass

Sunday, December 28, 2025

  • 8:00  am – Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
  • 10:30 am** – Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
  • 5:00 pm  - Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph  
    **PLEASE NOTE: The 10:30 am Mass will also signify the official closing of the Ordinary Jubilee Year 2025 in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.
