February 18 is Ash Wednesday! This signals for Catholics around the world that our Lenten journey begins. For forty days we prepare our hearts and minds to recall the pain of Christ’s death on a cross that leads to the joy of his transformative resurrection. To help us prepare, parishes across the Archdiocese will host a variety of Lenten initiatives. More information is below.
PLEASE NOTE: for more information on any of the events, please contact the hosting parish directly. Thank you!
HOLY TRINTIY PARISH:
Call the Doctor!: Encountering the Lives & Legacies of the Church's Great Teachers
Over the 2,000 years of Church history, 38 men and women have been designated by the Church as ‘Doctors’: individuals whose lives, teachings, contributions, and example have been foundational to our understanding and practice of the faith. This Lent, we’ll examine how these Doctors challenge us to go deeper in our discipleship with Christ and provide us with tools to help us enter into a deeper and more profound relationship with God through prayer, pondering, and practice!
This 7 - week course is open to all who wish to enroll and runs through Lent. Holy Trinity's Faith Formation Coordinator, Alex Craven, will host the sessions on Mondays from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at St. John Vianney Church on the evenings:
Feb 16, Feb 23, Mar 2, Mar 9, Mar 16, Mar 23 & Mar 30.
A requested donation of $10 is asked to cover some of the materials provided throughout. Please register to join us by Feb 15. You can do so by clicking HERE or email Alex Craven at
