In gratitude for Pope Francis’ ministry, a Jubilee Prayer Service will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica on Sunday, May 25 from 2:00-3:00pm. Archbishop Dunn designated Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, a pilgrimage site for the Jubilee Year. As such a Jubilee Indulgence will be granted to Pilgrims who take time to venerate the Jubilee Holy Cross which can be found to the right of the altar upon entering the Cathedral.
The Sisters of Charity—Halifax celebrate Pope Leo XIV's election. With deep pastoral ties to Chiclayo, Peru—where the Sisters ministered for over 50 years—the newly elected Pope holds special significance for the community.
As we enter into the season of Lent, a reminder that three parishes on peninsular Halifax will start to offer a daily 7:30am Mass. This is the result of feedback the diocese has received from people who would like to go to Mass prior to the beginning of their work day. Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Good Shepherd Parish, and Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi Parish will host these early morning Mass at 7:30am with the following schedule:
