PRAYER, POPE JOHN PAUL II kneels to pray during his visit to SAINT MARY’S CATHEDRAL BASILICA, Halifax. Pope John Paul II visited Halifax on September 14, 1984, as part of a 12-day tour of Canada. This was the first papal visit to Canada in history.

HEALING THE SICK, THE SISTERS OF CHARITY-HALIFAX owned and operated the Halifax Infirmary from its beginnings in 1886 until 1973.

PILGRIMS OF HOPE, Paroisse Notre Dame d’Acadie and Paroisse Notre-Dame de l'Assomption came together for a retreat at SAINT AMBROSE CO-CATHEDRAL in honour of the Jubilee Year, June 2025. Saint Ambrose is a designated Jubilee Year local pilgrimage site.

Community elders have described processions numbering over one thousand in this Acadian fishing community along the shores of Baie Sainte-Marie. Des personnes âgées dans la région ont décrit des processions dans lesquelles on comptait plus de mille participants.
