Remembering Pope Francis

To honour the life and legacy of Pope Francis, Archbishop Dunn invites the faithful to consider the following:

  • Flags at Half Mast

We ask parishes and diocesan facilities who have flags to fly them at half mast until Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday, April 26. The flags can be returned to full mast on Sunday, April 27.

  • Evening Prayer: Friday, April 25

As a way to remember him and pray for his soul, Archbishop Dunn invites the faithful of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth to gather with him for a 7:00pm Evening Prayer on April 25, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica.

Let us come together as a diocesan family to keep vigil with one another on the eve of Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome on Saturday.  All are welcome.
