Development and Peace is the Canadian Catholic organization that addresses the root causes of poverty, oppression, and inequality by working with partners in the Global South and by mobilizing Canadians in the common struggle for justice and dignity. Established by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops more than 50years ago, we are also part of the Caritas Confederation, the Vatican organization charged with promoting integral human development. We work with 78 partners around the world with 73 on-going projects located in 34 countries.
We are looking for volunteers and parish reps, who see solidarity, justice and peace as central to their faith and want to embrace it as a ministry and to practice the Catholic Social Teachings, of preferential option for the poor and care for the environment. We are calling on Catholics who love to do advocacy work and would love to share with others how to love their neighbors and be good stewards of creation.
