We are delighted to announce that John Stevens is a recipient of this year’s Mayann Francis Faith in Action Award. John Stevens is the Manager of the Office of Pastoral Life and New Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. He and his team work closely with Archbishop Dunn to support the parishes throughout the diocese. John has worked for the diocese for over 20 years.
This distinction is awarded by the Atlantic School of Theology to individuals whose actions, driven by their commitment and conviction to their faith tradition, provide exceptional community outreach making a positive impact on the wider community.
This award recognizes John’s initiation of and continued coordination and support of our Emergency Shelters Program as well the many ways he puts his faith into action throughout the Archdiocese.
The Awards will be presented by AST President, Rev. Dr. Heather McCance to all recipients at a small reception this week.
The Faith in Action Award was initiated by former Lieutenant Governor Mayann Francis. One of last year’s recipients was Deacon Larry Worthen for his work on conscience protection for healthcare professionals.
