You’re invited to our Eucharistic Congress!

Upon returning from a meeting of International Eucharistic Congress delegates in Ecuador in September 2023 International Eucharistic Gathering in Sept2024(see picture), Archbishop Dunn was inspired to host a local Eucharistic Congress in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. There has been a practice in our diocese to host an annual Assembly of the People of God; a time to gather a diocesan family to pray, reflect, learn, and celebrate the goodness of God being witnessed across our local Church. For 2024, that the annual diocesan gathering will be a Eucharistic Congress. The focus of this gathering will be on creating an opportunity for the spiritual renewal of the people and parishes of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth…and beyond.

Archbishop Dunn would be delighted for you to join him from October 17-20 for our first Eucharistic Congress in the Archdioceses of Halifax-Yarmouth!

The Eucharistic Congress Continues

Were you one of the 700 people that joined Archbishop Dunn for the Eucharistic Congress last month?  Or maybe you were part of the 1000 that walked the Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Halifax? This important event made an impact on so many peoples’ understanding of the Eucharist and the power the Eucharist through us has to heal the world.  So we want to continue to help people understand the Eucharist as the source and summit of our Catholic faith - especially as we prepare for the Jubilee Year 2025!

Starting on the Feast of Christ this King, November 24,  we will begin sending out a series of daily Congress Quotes.  This email will be delivered to inboxes each day and will contain a quote from one of our Congress keynote speakers, Archbishop Richard Smith or Archbishop Paul André Durocher, for you to pray with and reflect on. If you attended the Congress you will automatically begin receiving these emails on Sunday, November 24.  Feel free to share the email with your family and friends.
