Frassati Academy - Matching Gift Opportunity

Frassati Academy, an independent, classically-inspired Catholic elementary school dedicated to forming and educating children in the faith, has received a matching gift opportunity! A generous donor has offered a $20,000 match—which means that every donation made by December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000, for a total of $40,000 in impact. In other words, your gift will be doubled to help our school.

This matching donation is offered by Trevor Andrews in loving memory of his wife, Fiona, who died from ALS during the season of Advent four years ago. Her love for the Lord was evident to all who knew her, and she had a special heart for those on the margins she served quietly and humbly. Were she still with us today she would have been overjoyed at the reality and mission of Frassati Academy, which she would have unhesitatingly supported. We trust her prayers are with us.

Frassati Academy is an independent, classically-inspired Catholic elementary school located within the Campbell Centre at St. Agnes church of Good Shepherd Parish in Halifax. The school opened its doors in September 2025 and currently educates 35 students in grades pre-primary through grade 7. For some time now, parents have sought a small, faith-filled, high-quality education for their children, so seeing students walk into a classroom where Christ is at the center of everything was a blessing beyond words.

Thank you for any support you can give!

In addition to a program of evangelization, each Parish must have a process of ongoing formation in faith for children and adults. Growth in our closeness to the Lord and friendship with Him comes not only from study but also from encounter. All of our methods should be holistic in their approach to formation: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral. On this page throughout the year, we will post material and resources to help all of us work towards strengthening these priorities in our parish communities.
