Eucharistic Congress 2024

You’re invited to our Eucharistic Congress!

Upon returning from a meeting of International Eucharistic Congress delegates in Ecuador in September 2023 International Eucharistic Gathering in Sept2024(see picture), Archbishop Dunn was inspired to host a local Eucharistic Congress in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. There has been a practice in our diocese to host an annual Assembly of the People of God; a time to gather a diocesan family to pray, reflect, learn, and celebrate the goodness of God being witnessed across our local Church. For 2024, that the annual diocesan gathering will be a Eucharistic Congress. The focus of this gathering will be on creating an opportunity for the spiritual renewal of the people and parishes of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth…and beyond.

Archbishop Dunn would be delighted for you to join him from October 17-20 for our first Eucharistic Congress in the Archdioceses of Halifax-Yarmouth!

Invitation to the International Congress

In October 2024 the Archdiocese will host its first local Eucharistic Congress.  But before that, in September the 2024 International Eucharistic Congress will happen in Quito, Ecuador.  Archbishop Dunn is an official Canadian delegate and will be going – and you could go with him!

The 2024 International Eucharistic Congress will be held from September 8 to 15, 2024.  To encourage people to attend, a pilgrimage has been organised in collaboration with Spiritours. The pilgrimage will begin on September 6 and conclude on September 16.  There is also the option to extend the pilgrimage to include a four- day excursion to the Galapagos Islands.

The spiritual guides for the pilgrimage will be our own Archbishop Brian Dunn and Bishop Christian Rodembourg of the Diocese of Saint-Hyacinthe, PQ. They are the Canadian bishop delegates for the International Eucharistic Congress.
