Eucharistic Congress 2024

You’re invited to our Eucharistic Congress!

Upon returning from a meeting of International Eucharistic Congress delegates in Ecuador in September 2023 International Eucharistic Gathering in Sept2024(see picture), Archbishop Dunn was inspired to host a local Eucharistic Congress in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. There has been a practice in our diocese to host an annual Assembly of the People of God; a time to gather a diocesan family to pray, reflect, learn, and celebrate the goodness of God being witnessed across our local Church. For 2024, that the annual diocesan gathering will be a Eucharistic Congress. The focus of this gathering will be on creating an opportunity for the spiritual renewal of the people and parishes of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth…and beyond.

Archbishop Dunn would be delighted for you to join him from October 17-20 for our first Eucharistic Congress in the Archdioceses of Halifax-Yarmouth!

Who’s Coming to the Eucharistic Congress?

From October 17-20 there will be opportunities to gather with the faithful of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth to renew our understanding of the gift of the Eucharist; the Body and Blood of Christ that we receive in Communion each time we celebrate Mass.

We’ll also be joined by some special guests: Archbishop Richard Smith from the Archdiocese of Edmonton and Archbishop Paul André Durochers from the Archdiocese of Gatineau.  They will offer talks that will break open the theme of the Congress: Communion to Heal the World.

Who else will be there? Archbishop Dunn! 

Who else? The most important guest: Jesus!

Who else?  You …and hundreds of our sisters and brothers in the faith from all across the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth!

Come together to pray with, reflect on, and learn about the greatest gift of our faith, the Eucharist.  Wherever you are on your journey of faith Jesus is waiting…and wanting to encounter you!
