Rev. Adolphus Amaechi, Assistant Priest of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, Halifax, shall become Administrator of the Parish of Saint John of the Cross, Eastern Shore, effective September 2, 2026.
Rev. Benjamin Belgica, from the Philippines, will be arriving on September 15, 2026, and will stay at the cathedral for a time of inculturation.
Rev. Rob Elford, who was on leave from the Archdiocese, has been incardinated into the Diocese of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, effective June 29, 2026.
Rev. Robert Nicholas, Pastor of Saint John of the Cross Parish, Eastern Shore, has completed his time of ministry in the Archdiocese and will return to his diocese, effective September 2, 2026. He also completes his role as the Spiritual Advisor for the Halifax-Yarmouth Diocesan Catholic Women’s League.
Rev. Oliver Nwagbara, CCE, Assistant Priest of Good Shepherd Parish, Halifax, shall return to his community, effective September 4, 2026. He shall temporarily reside in Toronto, Ontario.
Rev. Andrew Rembarczyk, Assistant Priest of Corpus Christi Parish, shall retire from active ministry, effective September 1, 2026. He shall eventually reside at St. Agnes rectory.
Seminarians
Mr. Peter Mackey, from Kentville, has begun his process of seminary formation. He will be a seminarian at St. Peter’s Seminary, and this year he will participate in a Propaedeutic Year of spiritual formation at Serra House in Toronto.
Mr. Morgan Wilson, seminarian for his Pastoral Year at Good Shepherd Parish, has decided to take some time away from seminary formation, effective August 21, 2026.
