Appointments for the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth
Most Reverend Brian Joseph Dunn, Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth, announces the following appointments, which will be effective on April 29, 2026, unless otherwise stated:
Rev. Felix Aguka, from Nigeria will reside at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica when he arrives from Nigeria.
Rev. Adolphus Amaechi, from Jamaica, will become the Assistant Priest at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, effective April 1, 2026.
Rev. Jossey Benadict, IMS from India, will become Assistant Priest at St. John the Apostle Parish, effective February 28, 2026.
Fr. David Bergeron, CC, from Ottawa, will become the Administrator of Saint Benedict Parish from March 8, 2026 to July 1, 2026.
Fr. Ron Cairns, hospital chaplaincy at QEII Health Sciences Centre, will complete his time as Hospital Chaplain and will serve for emergency calls at all hospitals of the QEII Health Sciences Centre, effective February 18, 2026.
Rev. Craig Cameron will take on full time responsibilities for the Vocation Office and will continue to be the Pastor at Good Shepherd Parish, with the assistance of Fr. Oliver Nwagbara, CCE.
Rev. Alex Colautti, CC, after completing studies with his community, will become Pastor at Saint Benedict Parish, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Rob Elford, on leave of absence in Newfoundland will continue this leave of absence for another year, until August 2027.
Rev. Simon Lobo, CC, Pastor of Saint Benedict Parish, has been elected General Superior for the Companions of the Cross and will complete his ministry in the Archdiocese on March 8, 2026.
Rev. Johni Mathew, on leave of absence, will be Assistant Priest at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Rev. Gregory Nduka, Assistant Priest at Our Lady of Guadalupe, will become Assistant Priest for Immaculate Conception Parish, Truro.
Rev. Oliver Nwagbara, CCE, part time Assistant Priest at both Good Shepherd Parish and at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, will become full time Assistant Priest at Good Shepherd Parish.
Rev. Andrew Rembarczyk, Associate Pastor for Immaculate Conception Parish, Truro, will become Assistant Priest for Corpus Christi and will serve Middleton and Berwick.
Rev. Michael Walsh, Assistant Priest for Corpus Christi and serving Middleton and Berwick, shall retire from active ministry.
Seminarian Appointments
Mr. Nathan Hoffman, seminarian studying at St. Augustine’s Seminary, Toronto, will be associated with St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica and the Catholic Diocesan Center for the summer. He will stay at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Glebe.
Mr. Bruce Muise, seminarian studying at St. Peter’s Seminary, London, will continue his Pastoral Year until August 2026 at Divine Mercy Parish. He will stay at St. Peter’s Rectory at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
Mr. Greg Vess, seminarian studying at St. Augustine’s Seminary, Toronto, will be associated with St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica and the Catholic Diocesan Center for the summer. He will reside at Saint Agnes Rectory, Good Shepherd Parish.
Mr. Morgan Wilson, seminarian studying at St. Peter’s Seminary, London, will complete his Clinical Pastoral Education in Halifax in the summer and will begin his Pastoral Year at Good Shepherd Parish in September 2026. He will reside at Saint Agnes Rectory.
