Prayers for Archbishop Emeritus Terrence Prendergast

Last week the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall shared the following news on their Facebook page:

Archbishop Terrence [Prendergast], who served as the first Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall, has been diagnosed with cancer. With his permission, we invite you to join the diocese in praying for his healing and for God's peace and strength.

Bishop Terry, as he is known to many locally, was Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Halifax from 1998 to 2007.  In the summer of 2007 he was appointed by then Pope John Paul II to shepherd the Archdiocese of Ottawa.

We invite the faithful to keep Bishop Terry in their prayers.  Saint Peregrine, patron saint of those facing cancer, pray for him.
