On Tuesday, November 25, the Diocese of Antigonish will host a free public lecture titled, Intriguing Implications of AI with guest speaker Fr. Philip Larrey. The lecture is from 12:00 – 1:30pm at St. Ninian Place in Antigonish.
Fr. Philip Larrey, Ph.D., is a Catholic priest, author, and professor of philosophy at Boston College, and former Chair of Logic and Epistemology at the Pontifical Lateran University in the Vatican.
His scholarly work focuses on the philosophy of knowledge, critical thinking, and the impact of the digital era on society. Fr. Larrey was a featured speaker at the annual plenary of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in September 2025.
“When I’m at conferences the common denominator is that people are afraid of this technology,” said Fr. Larrey in an interview with the Catholic Register. “At the same time, I say ‘let’s not be naïve.’ We know that the risks are high, but don’t be afraid. Fear doesn’t come from God.”
