Lucas Harris presents the music of Rafaella Aleotti
Grace United Church, 70 King Street, Dartmouth
Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025. 10:30 AM - 12 noon

Join the Early Music Society of Nova Scotia (EMSNS) to play and sing gorgeous Latin motets by Raffaella Aleotti, a virtuosa from the late Italian Renaissance. Raffaella Aleotti was a resident of Ferrara’s San Vito convent, whose nuns were renowned for their musical performances in the 1590’s. The two motets will be “Angelus ad pastores ait” and “Audivi vocem.”

The workshop will be under the direction of lutenist Lucas Harris, Artistic Director of the Toronto Chamber Choir. The workshop is free to EMSNS members, and others are welcome by donation.

Singers of all voice types and players of all instruments are welcome . Participants in the January 18 workshop are urged to click on this link beforehand: the vocal score and parts.
