Saint Vincent’s is a 149 bed, 59-year-old, not-for-profit long-term care facility in the centre of Halifax.
They are seeking volunteers to assist us in meeting the pastoral needs of our residents in the following capacity:
- Organist/guitarist: For hymn sings and resident Choir.
- Bible Study: Ability to co-lead a group discussion of scripture.
- Porters: To escort residents (mostly in wheelchairs) to and from church services.
- Palliative Visitors: People with previous experience/ training to sit with people who are palliative or end-of-life.
As in parish work, volunteers must be willing to submit a police check and complete a volunteer application, due to interaction with the vulnerable and very special people in our care.
