December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is also recognized as the National Day for Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples for the Canadian Church.  Archbishop Dunn will celebrate a special Mass at 10:00am at Saint Mary’s Cathedral on December 12. As part of the Mass there will be a presentation on our Lady of Guadalupe from the Honourable Graydon Nicholas, former lieutenant governor of New Brunswick.

Starting this year we will celebrate December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, as our diocesan feast day. Join Archbishop Dunn as he presides at a special 7:00pm Mass at Saint Mary’s Cathedral on December 8.  Let’s gather to entrust the people and parishes of our diocese to the care and intercession of Mary.

Happy Anniversary Archbishop Dunn! Happy Anniversary Archbishop Dunn!

November 27 will mark Archbishop Dunn’s third anniversary of becoming the archbishop of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.  To celebrate this significant moment in his ministry he will celebrate the 12:15 Mass at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica on Monday, November 27. The faithful of the Archdiocese are invited to join him that day.

Let us pray in gratitude for the ministry and leadership of Archbishop Dunn. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and gift him with all he needs to care for the faithful of this local Church.

Pray for Peace in the Holy Land

Please join the knights and dames of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Canada Atlantic Lieutenancy at the 12:15 PM Mass at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica on Saturday, November 25 to pray for an end to the conflict in Israel and Gaza.  The mission of this ancient worldwide Order is to support the Christians living in the Holy Land and to help protect the Holy sites in the land where Jesus was born, taught, was crucified and rose again for the salvation of humanity. You are invited to join Archbishop Dunn as he leads us in prayer to remember and pray for all of the people affected by the present war and to look toward a time of peace in the Holy Land. Deus lo vult!
