On Friday, May 13 the Vatican announced that Pope Francis will make a pastoral visit to Canada from July 24 to 29, 2022 during which he will make stops in Edmonton, Quebec City, and Iqaluit. The Canadian Conference of Bishops sent out a media release on Friday which you can read by clicking here or going to the CCCB website: www.cccb.ca .  Exact details around programming, events, and Masses will be forthcoming.

This pastoral visit will different from papal visits of the past. This is a pastoral visit with a purpose. The Holy Father is making a pilgrimage of healing, reconciliation, and hope regarding residential schools.  His focus will be to be present to the Indigenous Peoples of this land as best he can given his advanced age and limited mobility.
