Caring for our Community Collection

This June, starting the weekend of June 10-11, you are invited to give to our Caring for our Community Collection. This is the second of three annual diocesan collections that support the pastoral works of the Archdiocese.

“In the one spirit we were all baptized into one body.” 1 Cor.12

This verse comes from the second reading from the Feast of Pentecost which we recently celebrated. As One Body in Christ we are called to care for the whole Christian community. It’s important to welcome new members and provide on-going formation for disciples. At the same time, we must also support those who have shared their gifts for many years and are slowing down; specifically, care for our infirmed and retired priests.

Giving to this diocesan collection is a way to give thanks for the ministry of the priests who have cared for the faithful across the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth for many years. They have blessed us with their ministry, let us bless them with our support, care, and financial gifts to the Caring for our Community collection. May the example of our faithful priests encourage our own yes to God’s call to spread the Good News and serve one another.
